Adam Lambert has declared that he does not mind being single.

The American Idol runner-up, who split from boyfriend Drake LaBry last week, insisted that he is "cool" with his relationship status.

"I will date on tour," Lambert told Us Weekly, adding that he is interested in finding someone who is "intelligent" and has "creativity and compassion".

He said of his break-up: "I don't really feel like there were any mistakes made. I feel like things evolved. Sometimes you're on the same page with somebody, and sometimes you have to get off that page and on to another one."

Lambert releases his debut album For Your Entertainment on November 23.
