McConaughey: 'Life begins at 40'

Matthew McConaughey has revealed that he is looking forward to his 40s.

The How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days star, who turned 40 yesterday, said that he is excited about his future with girlfriend Camilla Alves, 16-month-old son Levi and their unborn child.

McConaughey wrote on his MySpace page: "The 30s were good to me and I'm really looking forward to my 40s, 'cause I'm a late bloomer. Got everything I need for a perfect 40th... a happy and healthy lady, son, and another baby on the way."

The actor apparently celebrated his birthday with his family and friends, with a surprise performance by country musician Jamey Johnson.

McConaughey added: "Going to spend some more time with my family and friends today, grillin' steaks and sippin' beers, celebratin' more to live for... and again thanks for all the b-day wishes."
