Morgan Freeman settles car crash lawsuit

Morgan Freeman has reached a settlement with the woman who was in his car when he crashed in Mississippi last year, reports The AP.

The Dark Knight star and passenger Demaris Meyer both sustained injuries in the accident near the actor's home in February.

She later alleged that he had been drinking before the crash and accused him of negligence. No charges were filed.

An attorney for Freeman reportedly refused to disclose the details of the out-of-court settlement but said that the actor was "glad it's over with".

A lawyer for Meyer added: "[She] is pleased that the matter is resolved and the case is settled."

Meyer had sued Freeman for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, permanent disability and property damage. She also denied tabloid reports that she was romantically involved with the star.
