Boyle did not suspect Patel, Pinto love

Danny Boyle has voiced his surprise over the relationship between Dev Patel and Freida Pinto.

The director said that he did not see any hints of romance when working with the "soulmates" on the set of Slumdog Millionaire.

WENN quotes Boyle as saying: "I was a bit surprised at first, but then those things tend to pass me by.

"I'm delighted for them, they seem to be real soulmates and I'm sure more than that. I'm very happy for them - it seems lovely."

Rumours that the couple's on-screen union had extended to real life spread in February when they were spotted browsing at a London jewellers. Pinto's former fiancé Rohan Antao claimed that the romance had "ruined his faith in love".
