Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher has played in a fundraising football game for Berkhamsted FC.

The 37-year-old was persuaded to turn out for the team after their sponsors Stoneforce did some decoration work at his home.

"We recently refurbished Liam's house and I asked him to play. It was great to see everyone's faces when he came," said Stoneforce boss Paul Smith.

"He raced up and down the wing and came close to scoring a few times. He's pretty fit. Then he stayed until 1am drinking and telling stories. He even played the lads new songs. He had a great time."

Gallagher's side ended up beating The Arcadia Group 5-2 at the Hertfordshire ground.
