Hopper: 'Treatment has great promise'

Dennis Hopper has claimed that his new cancer treatment has "great promise", according to PA.

The legendary Easy Rider star revealed last month that he was battling prostate cancer and had begun an experimental treatment at the University of Southern California.

He made his first public appearance since announcing his illness at the Breeders' Cup event over the weekend.

Speaking to reporters, he said: "[The treatment] has great promise, everything's good right now."

Hopper also revealed that he has been battling cancer for the past nine years.
