Justin Timberlake has been granted an indefinite restraining order against a woman accused of stalking him.

Karen McNeil, 28, has been ordered to stay away from the singer and his home for three years after she told the court that she was destined to marry Timberlake and "rule" with him, the BBC reports.

Timberlake was not in court for the hearing, but said in a written declaration: "Ms McNeil's ever-increasing, aggressive and harassing conduct are extremely distressing.

"I fear for my personal safety, and that of my family and friends."

He also described McNeil as an "obsessed and mentally unstable stalker" whom he "does not personally know or have any relationship with".

Outside court, McNeil said: "That was all lies. I did not break into Justin's house. I was let on the property."

Last month, a Los Angeles judge granted Timberlake a temporary restraining order against McNeil.
