Jimmy Carr has said that he is becoming a better stand-up comedian with every tour.
The comic, who recently attracted criticism over a joke about amputee soldiers, told London Lite that he has improved since his first DVD releases.
Carr said: "I'm still trying to get better. Ten years into any job, you're still learning it. I'm now on my fifth DVD and when I look back at the first one I think I'm so much better than I was.
"I was quite staccato on stage, just banging out the jokes. Now there's a lot more audience stuff and when I do stand-up I'm much more who I am in real life."
He added: "There's still a bit of a persona but I'm definitely better at writing jokes. It's nice to see a bit of improvement because that's what stops it from getting boring."
