Ronnie Wood 'begins divorce proceedings'

Ronnie Wood has begun divorce proceedings from his estranged wife Jo, say reports.

The Rolling Stones guitarist, 62, split from his spouse in July last year after his affair with young Russian waitress Ekaterina Ivanova was exposed.

Ex-model Jo, 54, cited the star's admitted adultery as the reason for their break-up, although Ivanova was not named in the court documents.

The former couple's lawyers headed to the High Court's Family Division on behalf of their clients on Wednesday to hear district judge Anne Aitken declare a decree nisi, the first step in legally ending their 24-year marriage.

The divorce will become permanent in six weeks when a decree absolute is granted. Jo is expected to be handed $10.4m (£6.5m) as part of their settlement.

The Woods have two children together - daughter Leah and son Tyrone.
