Director hints at Pattinson, Stewart romance

Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke has reportedly hinted at a romance between stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

The pair have previously denied rumours that they are dating, with Stewart recently suggesting that she did not want to "give the fiending an answer".

Speaking to Time, Hardwicke said: "After I cast him, I told Rob, 'Don't even think about having a romance with her. She's under 18. You will be arrested'."

Hardwicke went on to say that she was not entirely sure what happened between Pattinson and Stewart, now 19, saying: "In terms of what Kristen told me directly, it didn't happen on the first movie.

"Nothing crossed the line while on the first film. I think it took a long time for Kristen to realise, 'OK, I've got to give this a go and really try to be with this person'."

Pattinson and Stewart were recently alleged to have been photographed holding hands while walking through a French airport.
