The cast of ABC's ratings winner Desperate Housewives are complaining that the $47,000 (£25,000) they are paid per episode is not enough.
The Daily Star Sunday reported that stars of the show - Marcia Cross, Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria and Nicolette Sheridan - are all expecting a boost in pay in the wake of two Golden Globes and international popularity.
Following Sheridan's claim of being "the poorest actress in television" last month, a source at Touchstone said: "The girls are fuming. Their salaries range from $47,000 (£25,000) to $76,000 (£40,500) an episode - which is peanuts compared to the cash coming in from selling it around the world.
"It's crazy when you compare it with the $1.8m (£1m)-a-show the stars of Friends were making.
"No one's suggesting they're worth that much. But they do deserve a slice of the big bucks they're generating."
