Moby: 'I refuse to take insomnia meds'
Published Wednesday, Nov 18 2009, 09:29 GMT | By Rebecca Davies

The 'Play' musician, who has previously said that he struggles to fall asleep after performing, said that he is too scared to take regular medication for the disorder because he is scared of becoming addicted.
Moby is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: "It's hard. There's that trajectory of insomnia. At first it's awful and then about eight o'clock in the morning you think, 'Maybe I'll fall asleep', and, at some point, you give up."
He continued: "If you have insomnia for a while, you start hallucinating - you start seeing rats on the floor. It's kind of like a bad drug experience without the drugs."
Moby added: "There's this long history of travelling musicians and public figures getting addicted to prescription drugs, so I think I've seen too many horror stories and try hard to stay away from pharmaceuticals."
