Andre: 'I'm not chasing Alexandra Burke'

Peter Andre has dismissed reports that he is trying to seduce X Factor winner Alexandra Burke.

Last week, a tabloid claimed that the popstar had been bombarding Burke with text messages after they met on The Paul O'Grady Show recently.

However, writing in his New magazine column, Andre insisted: "I said in an interview in New last week that I wanted to cook for Alexandra Burke because, after interviewing her on The Paul O'Grady Show, I discovered we had a mutual love of food.

"I am a man of my word and have asked Alex if she would like to come round to mine for lunch sometime soon.

"A story said we had been texting each other constantly and flirting since we met, but that's not true. It's not a hot date - I just think she is a nice girl and I wanted to invite her round. It's as simple as that."

Andre has reportedly stayed single since splitting from glamour model Katie Price in May.
