Eastwood: 'I'm glad I waited for kids'

Clint Eastwood has revealed that he is happy that he waited until his 30s to have children.

The actor and director, who has six children with four different women, said that he was too driven by hormones when he was younger to be a good father.

Eastwood is quoted by Yahoo as saying: "I'm a loyal citizen to the family. And that wasn't necessarily a given thing. I'm not one of these guys who wants to check out early."

He continued: "But when you check out, it's when you're supposed to check out. I take care of myself. I like working. That's when I'm feeling my best."

The 79-year-old star added: "That was acquired. I think when you're younger, you're driven by a lot of hormonal effects. It's like Everest... There's a lot of people who learn a lot faster than me, that's for sure."
