Snipes' loses warrant nullification bid

Wesley Snipes has had his request to nullify an arrest warrant refused.

The warrant was issued in New York in 2003 after a woman claimed that he fathered her son. The 42-year-old actor's lawyer argued that his accuser was delusional and that New York had no jurisdiction over Snipes, a Florida resident. District Judge Loretta Preska said on Wednesday that she had no power to intervene in a state court matter.

Snipes' lawyer argued that the woman in question had never met the Blade star and so could not have had a child by him. He added that she had been known to have similar delusions about other celebrities including Prince, Oprah Winfrey and Bill Clinton.

However, the lawyer failed in his attempt to quash the warrant and to prevent Snipes' DNA being sought.
