Formula One world champion Jenson Button is reportedly looking to buy Robbie Williams's mansion.

The motor racing star has put in an offer of £6 million for the 18th century pile in Wiltshire, The Sun claims.

Williams bought the house for almost £8.5 million a year ago, but is apparently ready to accept a £1 million loss on the property.

A source said: "Jenson was thinking about renting but now wants to buy. It would be perfect for him."

The mansion has seven bedrooms, 71 acres of land, a helicopter hangar, fountains and temples, as well as a racing track for Rage buggies.

Williams is reportedly hoping for a quick sale so that he can spend the winter in Los Angeles with his American girlfriend Ayda Field.
