A case claiming that Miley Cyrus harmed Asians by imitating them in a photograph has been thrown out of court.
Lucie J. Kim, who claimed that she represented more than one million Asian Pacific Islanders in the Los Angeles area, launched a £4bn (£2.4bn) lawsuit after a photograph emerged of Cyrus pulling back her eyelids.
Kim argued that Cyrus had breached a state law which bans businesses from discriminating against people on the grounds of race, gender, ethnicity or other traits. She asked for $4,000 (£2,400) for each potential claimant.
However, the Los Angeles Times reports that a judge has now dismissed the case.
Cyrus's lawyer and spokesperson refused to comment, but Kim's attorney revealed that he is considering an appeal.
He explained that because the judge did not ask his client to pay the legal fees Cyrus asked for, he must have thought that Kim made a good-faith argument.
