Simpson defends family from Perez Hilton

Jessica Simpson has reportedly criticised Perez Hilton after the celebrity blogger made an allegedly unflattering comment about her family.

According to Us magazine, the 29-year-old singer was angry that Hilton poked fun at sister Ashlee, brother-in-law Pete Wentz and their 1-year-old son Bronx.

In a post marking Bronx's first birthday this week, Hilton wrote: "Poor lil' thing doesn't stand a chance."

Simpson responded on her Twitter account by saying: "Does Perez Hilton... whatever his name really is... have no heart at all? Don't ever attack my family again. Sad to know you hate so deeply. Sad for you."

The Simpson family reportedly celebrated Bronx's birthday with a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed party over the weekend.
