The television mogul recently confirmed that she will step down from The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2011 after 25 seasons.
Speaking on Good Morning America, King said: "Listen, no pity party for Oprah, because she has a great life and does wonderful things.
"But at the end of the day, it really is her life and it's time... She's riding off from The Oprah Winfrey Show as we know it, but she's not riding off into the sunset. I know there's going to be a next chapter."
King added: "I'm happy because I know for her it is the right decision. She is so at peace with it. She's very much alive and happy."
