The Britain's Got Talent star was mobbed by fans in New York's Rockefeller Plaza earlier this week, after she arrived in the city to promote her debut album I Dreamed A Dream.
She later appeared to break down in tears after receiving a hand-made quilt created by hundreds of fans from across the world.
Speaking to Access Hollywood, her spokesperson said: "Susan was overjoyed and extremely touched by the gift she had just received and the reception she had from her fans in America."
It was recently reported that Boyle's debut LP is on track to achieve the biggest first week sales of the year in the US and become the fastest-selling album of 2009 in the UK.
