Simpson, Wentz dismiss marriage trouble

Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and husband Pete Wentz are not arguing over their finances, according to their representative.

A recent tabloid report had alleged that the couple's relationship is becoming "strained" because of the Melrose Place actress's shopping habits.

However, a spokesperson for the pair has branded the report a "piece of fabrication", adding to Gossip Cop: "They just celebrated their son's first birthday together".

Simpson previously used her Twitter account to dismiss speculation that her marriage is in trouble, writing: "My husband is an amazing DJ and was dedicating songs to me. We were just having fun. Our love is amazing!"

The couple tied the knot in 2008 and are parents to 1-year-old son Bronx Mowgli.
