Maggie Gyllenhall has admitted that she would like to follow in her brother's footsteps and star in Hollywood blockbusters.
Her sibling Jake first impressed audiences and the industry in Richard Kelly's cult movie Donnie Darko (in which Maggie also appeared) before moving on to commercial success with the likes of disaster movie The Day After Tomorrow.
Maggie told Empire magazine: "You know, to be honest, I would like to have the power to choose to do any movie I want. I didn't always want that, but I do now.
"At first I thought, 'All I want is to be able to do these little independent movies, that will satisfy me'. And it's not true. Actually I want to do that movie and so does Nicole Kidman, I'd better figure out how I can do it.
"I thought I would be satisfied with the choices I have now and I'm not."
