Clooney 'not helping Cage with finances'

George Clooney has denied rumours that he is helping Nicolas Cage financially.

Cage is currently being sued for failing to repay a $2m (£1.2m) loan and owes $6.3m (£3.8m) in unpaid taxes.

Recent reports have claimed that Johnny Depp and George Clooney have offered to help pay off some of Cage's debts.

However, Clooney's representative dismissed the speculation and revealed that his client hardly knows Cage.

Speaking to Gossip Cop, the spokesperson said: "George has met Nicolas Cage once in his life, and that was three or four years ago at the Venice Film Festival."

Cage recently sold two of his homes in an attempt to pay off some of his taxes.
