The Britain's Got Talent singer, who has just released her debut album 'I Dreamed A Dream', has reportedly been speaking in an American accent, playing her own music at top volume, and fears her cat no longer loves her.
Boyle, 48, told The Mirror that she was "very well" and would be honoured if her LP made it to number one in the charts. However, her neighbour Teresa Miller, 36, said that the singer had "definitely changed".
She said: "I said hello to her in the street the other day and she blanked me. Then on other days she's perfectly charming. It must be the stress getting to her. But I’ll always be here for her if she needs me."
The Blackburn resident went on to say that she and her husband had been "driven mad" by Boyle's music.
"I think her favourite song is 'Wild Horses' as that’s the one she plays the most. We’ve also seen two ambulances and a doctor come to her house. Susan had told me she had been feeling pains in her stomach."
Boyle's representative said earlier this week that she was "touched" by the reception given to her in the US. In New York, followers of the Scot made banners and wore tartan outfits during an appearance at the Rockefeller Plaza.
