Dyer: 'Ashley Cole is a shy, nice man'

Danny Dyer has revealed that he was pleasantly surprised when he worked with Ashley Cole because he did not expect to like him.

Dyer and Cheryl Cole's husband teamed up to work on Dead Man Running, which marked the Chelsea defender's first foray into the film world.

"I met him, and he is really shy, a nice boy actually, I think he gets a tough time of it. So I was pleasantly surprised with him," Dyer told ITN at the launch of his new DVD Danny Dyer's Football Foul-Ups.

The 32-year-old actor added that Cole has a hard time with press speculation about his marriage. "Who knows what goes on behind closed doors? We live in this tabloid world, and we actually don't know what goes on," he said.
