Bob Marley honoured in Ethiopia
Published Wednesday, Feb 2 2005, 15:33 GMT | By Daniel Saney

Ethiopian minister Netsanet Asfaw told the BBC: "Bob Marley put Ethiopia on a pedestal and it is in his honour that this festival is going to take place here."
Although Jamaica was Marley's homeland, Ethiopia was regarded as his spiritual home because it was the birthplace of Rastafarian leader Haile Selassie.
Last month there were claims that his widow, Rita Marley, planned to exhume his remains in Jamaica and move them to Ethiopia, but it was then revealed through a spokesperson that the rumours stemmed from a misinterpretation of her words.
The month's events will include film screenings and concerts under the banner of Africa Unite.
