Male attention blamed for Bloom, Bosworth split

Kate Bosworth split from Orlando Bloom because he spent too much time "boozing with his mates," the Daily Star claimed Thursday.

The actors confirmed their break-up earlier this week, citing a heavy work schedule as the cause.

Bloom's preference for hanging out with his male companions has now been named as the real reason, however. The "final showdown" between the couple was said to result from a night out on the town Orlando spent with Lord of the Rings costar Sean Bean.

Sources said that Kate, 22, was "livid" when Orlando, 28, "disappeared for hours" with Bean after "virtually ignoring her" at the Golden Globes recently.

"Kate always knew that Orlando loves to chill with his mates, but it just started to get ridiculous," a source told the tabloid. "With their busy schedules they hardly got to see each other as it was, so when he disappeared with the boys it was awful.

"She told him that she couldn't see the relationship working unless they made more time for one another. But Orlando is quite a social bloke and he misses the camaraderie of the laddish drinking culture in the UK.

"When Sean was around he jumped at the chance to sink a few jars. But Kate didn't understand and she asked him why he'd rather spend time with his mates. The row that followed pretty much finished them."
