Lindsay Lohan "way into" with John Mayer

Lindsay Lohan has been revealed to be "way into" singer John Mayer.

The Mean Girls star, who recently broke up again with on-off lover Samantha Ronson, was spotted partying with Mayer at New York's Butter nightclub earlier this week.

An onlooker told E! News: "She would follow his every move. He would dance with the waitresses and then come back. She was way into it. Sam and Lindsay were getting along great but as friends."

Hours after leaving the club, Lohan wrote on Mayer's Twitter page: "@johncmayer shhhhhhhhhhhhhh butter-face :)"

Mayer did not respond directly to Lohan's message, but did write on his own page: "I've got two women texting me they want to come over. What's that, Modern Warfare 2? You understand me? Done. Night, ladies!"
