The Rolling Stones guitarist was taken into custody last night, although he has since been released on bail, reports BBC News.
"We can confirm that a 62-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault in connection with a domestic incident," a police spokesperson said.
The star has been bailed until next January, pending "further enquiries".
Wood started divorce proceedings from estranged wife Jo last month. He is currently dating 20-year-old Ekaterina Ivanova.
