Dame Judi Dench has revealed that she still worries about her performances, despite more than 50 years in the theatre, film and television industries.

The Academy Award-winning actress said that the burden of expectation was to blame for her continued stage fright.

"I get more nervous... I get much more nervous now. I thought I was quite nervous when I started 52 years ago, but I'm much more nervous now, you know, because people are expecting more I suppose.

"They've seen you for a long time and wait to see what you're going to do," Dench, 74, told WENN.

The James Bond star added that she is yet to master her craft despite more than five decades on the stage and screen. "The day I think I've learnt it all, that's the day I'll give up," she said.
