The American Idol runner-up split from interior designer LaBry in October.
Speaking to People, he said: "Drake and I just realised we'd make better friends. But I adore him."
When asked what he looks for in a partner, he replied: "He has to be attractive but it's about chemistry. When he touches you, you want to be, like, bam!"
The 27-year-old recently revealed that he has only been in love once and admitted that it is "probably difficult" to have a relationship at the moment.
