Elton is behind Jamie

Elton John has expressed his support for Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Academy Awards.

Sir Elton says that he wishes Foxx the best of luck in winning the Best Actor Oscar for which he is nominated for his role in Taylor Hackford's biopic, Ray.

IOL.com quotes the singer as saying: "Phenomenal performance by Jamie Foxx. I really just hope that he wins the Oscar because to play someone is the hardest thing. He was just spooky and brilliant.

"The film explains a lot of things and it's a tremendous tribute to one of the greatest musicians and performers and composers that America has ever, ever produced."
