The Nine star, who is known for her Halloween celebrations, hosted a party on Friday night at her home in Southern California. Among the guests were Liv Tyler, Kate Beckinsale, Tobey Maguire, Fergie and Josh Duhamel as well as Hudson's parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
According to People, one guest who was noticeably absent from the event was New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez, who has been spending time in Miami since his break-up with Hudson earlier this month.
A source said: "There were singers caroling to start the night and then a hip-hop DJ played later."
As for Hudson, the source added: "She played the perfect host. She couldn't have been in a better mood."
