Michael 'still cringes at Wham! outfits'

George Michael has admitted that he still cringes when he thinks back to the outfits that he used to wear in Wham!.

The singer enjoyed huge success in the 1980s as a pop duo with Andrew Ridgeley, but the 46-year-old told Scotland's Big Issue that he always finds himself embarrassed looking at old photos and videos.

"When I see myself, I cringe mostly!" Michael said. "Take that blonde hair, I wanted to have long, blonde, straight hair because I didn't really want to be me. So the short, dark curly hair had to go."

He added: "Looking back, I suppose I could have done without those curtain rings in my ears as well. And the shorts with the shuttlecocks down them too. I mean, how stupid did that look?

"Andrew and I were just young guys having fun, and that's an age when you're still experimenting with your image, so of course mistakes were made."
