Murphy's husband 'lashes out at US media'

Simon Monjack has lashed out at reports claiming his wife overdosed or suffered from an eating disorder.

The husband of the late Brittany Murphy, who has already addressed overdose rumours in the last few days, spoke shortly before the star's burial.

"The attacks on me, the attacks on my wife and suggestions that she was anorexic and drug addicted, it's like, look at the [recent] photographs," he told the New York Daily News.

"Look at that smile, that's not the smile of an anorexic or drug addict or someone in a bad marriage, that's someone who was content with her life."

Murphy's recent autopsy revealed no abnormalities in the cause of her death.
