MJ Trial: Jackson rushed to hospital

Michael Jackon's trial has suffered yet another delay after Jackson himself was rushed to hospital en route to the Santa Maria courtroom today.

Reuters report that the Santa Barbara County Superior Court Judge Rodney Melville said to the courtroom: "You'll notice Mr. Jackson is not in court today," and explained that Jackson had been rushed to hospital soon after leaving his Neverland ranch.

Unconfirmed sources suggest that the singer is suffering from no more than a bout of influenza.

Jackson's lawyer Thomas Mesereau commented that his client was feeling "very ill" and that the nature of the illness has not yet been confirmed.

The jury selection is still ongoing, and is possibly expected to be halted for "three to four days" while Jackson recovers.
