The Britain's Got Talent contestant, who rocketed to fame after appearing on the ITV1 talent show, will perform on the country's popular TV programme Kohaku Uta Gassen.
Boyle's album I Dreamed A Dream is number one in the country, even although it was never promoted there nor has the 48-year-old ever visited.
A source told The Mirror: "Kohaku Uta Gassen is a massive show watched by millions, and lots of them who have seen Susan on YouTube will now get to see a new very special performance.
"Susan has been practising a Japanese folk song called 'Wings To Fly', which she is hoping to perform live for the first time."
Boyle, who is spending Christmas with her family and close friends before flying out for the New Year, recently said that she was the "happiest" she has ever been after a "rollercoaster year".
