The presenter of American chatshow The View, who has been married three times, was believed to be dating Langella after they were spotted together in Washington DC.
80-year-old Walters told the New York Post: "Frank and I have been friends for many years and will continue to be friends for many years, but it's not a romance."
Langella has previously dated Walters's co-host Whoopi Goldberg.
