Piers Morgan reveals proposal details

Piers Morgan has revealed how he proposed to girlfriend Celia Walden.

The America's Got Talent judge became engaged to author Walden while the pair were vacationing in Paris before Christmas.

Speaking to Access Hollywood's Billy Bush, he said: "We had a lovely day and I used the great American novelist John Updike to actually do the proposal because he's her favourite author.

"He wrote a book a few years before he died called Marry Me, so I found a first edition of Marry Me and I gave it to her as a birthday present, and when she opened it she found out that I'd finally done the decent thing."

Morgan added that the couple are "looking forward to a nice wedding in the summer in England", joking: "It'll be in a marquee in torrential rain as [is] normal [in the] English summer."

The pair have been together for four years.
