Underwood to take Fisher's surname?

Carrie Underwood has suggested that she will take fiancé Mike Fisher's surname when they marry.

The 'Cowboy Casanova' star, 25, became engaged to Ottawa Senators player Fisher just before Christmas after a year-long relationship.

Speaking to ET Online at last night's People's Choice Awards, she said: "It's probably legally going to be Carrie Fisher but I'm never going to get away from Underwood. That's OK!"

When asked how exciting it was being engaged, she replied: "I don't get to say boyfriend anymore, I get to say fiancé! There's a lot of planning to be done, we're just both really happy."

She added: "We were happy just dating but this just takes everything to a whole new level. We're very happy to spend the rest of our lives together."

Underwood picked up the 'Favourite Country Artist' gong at the annual ceremony in Los Angeles.
