Murphy mum, husband comfort each other

Brittany Murphy's husband and mother have "clung to each other for support" since her death last month, reports have said.

Clueless and 8 Mile star Murphy died aged 32 of a cardiac arrest on December 20, leaving behind screenwriter husband Simon Monjack and mother Sharon Murphy.

Monjack's mother told People magazine: "Simon is exactly as you would expect someone to be who has just lost the woman he loved. Some days he wants to kill himself, and other days he seems to be coping better.

"He is distraught. I speak to him every day, and he is often in tears. He's very strong, and he's got Sharon. They're very close, and they're keeping each other going."

Coroner's officials are reportedly still awaiting toxicology results that could help them determine the exact cause of death of the actress.
