Coulter: 'Hawkins is not a real woman'

Ricki-Lee Coulter has said that models such as Jennifer Hawkins are not "real" women.

The Australian singer, who is a size 14, backed up DJ Bianca Dye in saying that Hawkins should not have been chosen by Marie Claire magazine to be a role model for women with body confidence.

Coulter told Woman's Day magazine: "I’m not ashamed of showing my curves to the world. I’m the same size as the average woman in Australia - a size 14. This is what I really look like."

Describing the "big divide" between Hawkins and the average Aussie woman, Coulter continued: "Jen looks beautiful on the cover and I applaud any woman who is prepared to appear in print without airbrushing.

"But I love the photo of Bianca Dye that shows her sexy killer curves. I think a lot of women will look at her and think this is what a real woman looks like. Being too thin is just as unhealthy as being obese."

Hawkins has defended her nude cover shoot, saying that she only did it to raise money for charity.
