The actress delivered a tearful eulogy to her friend at his public memorial service in Los Angeles in July, branding him "one of a kind" and reflecting on their special "bond".
Speaking to Access Hollywood, she said: "Did you see me shaking? They didn't tell us that the coffin was going to be there.
"I thought - because there was a fantasy moment in my head - that he was going to jump out and start the concert. They had written me something. I didn't… I wrote my own thing and just had to do my own thing. But it was… I felt honoured to be a part of it."
She revealed that she was asked to take part in the service by Jackson's mother but confirmed that she had not spoken to the singer for years before his death.
"I hope I did a good job," she added. "I tried."
