The Queen enjoyed a chat with four guitar heroes last night when she invited them round for a Palace party.
Queen's Brian May, Cream's Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck were all in attendance at the Palace on what was fellow guest Roger Daltrey's (The Who) 61st birthday, reports the Daily Star.
On being reminded of Brian May's electric performance of the national anthem atop the roof of Buckingham Palace at the 2002 Golden Jubilee concert, the startled Queen asked: "Oh! That was you was it?"
Veteran Clapton was asked "Have you been playing a long time?", to which the Tears In Heaven singer admitted "It must be 45 years now."
He later said: "It doesn't matter that she did not know who we were. I wouldn't expect her to."
