Katharine McPhee talks about new look

Katharine McPhee has spoken out about her decision to cut her hair into a short, platinum blonde bob, according to Radar Online.

The former American Idol star debuted the different style last year after previously sporting long brown locks.

Speaking to Shape magazine, she admitted that she was "feeling rebellious" when she changed her image.

"That's when I knew I wanted something big. So I said to my stylist, 'Just chop it all off and make me a blonde!' I went out and bought new clothes for the new me. It was definitely a good thing to do," she is quoted as saying.

McPhee also reportedly opened up about her past battle with bulimia, saying: "The more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got.

"Now I'm more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting."
