Padma Lakshmi 'gives baby name hints'

Padma Lakshmi has reportedly dropped hints about what she is planning to name her baby.

The Top Chef star confirmed that she is pregnant with her first child in October, branding the pregnancy a "medical miracle" after a struggle with endometriosis.

Speaking to People, she said: "I am going to name the child an Indian name - I'm Indian. [It's] not a fancy name, but a name that is close to my family.

"It will be after someone in my family. So don't expect to see an Anglicized name - it will be a classically Indian Sanskrit name."

Lakshmi sparked speculation that she is expecting a baby girl earlier this month when she referred to the child as "she" during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon's show, before insisting that she used "she and he intermittently".

The baby is due this spring.
