Slater: 'Hollywood is full of traps'

Christian Slater has said that he wants young actors to realise that they will regret having a Hollywood lifestyle.

The actor, who has struggled with drug and alcohol addiction in the past, explained that he is lucky that he had people to support him.

According to Contactmusic, he said: "Some of these guys don't realise that there are a lot of traps you can fall into. I'm very fortunate that I have good people around me now who encourage me to give something back rather than just be selfish like I used to."

He added: "You need people around to remind you that the truth hurts but bulls**t kills. There's a big world out there but people need to realise it doesn't all revolve around Hollywood."

Slater has previously said that it is a "miracle" that he reached the age of 40.
