McPhee is "codependent" on her dogs

Katharine McPhee has revealed that she is "codependent" on her pet chihuahuas.

The former American Idol contestant, who has been married to Nick Cokas for nearly two years, said that he thinks her obsession with her dogs is ridiculous.

McPhee told PopEater: "Yeah, sadly, I'm codependent on them. Sometimes [Nick] rolls his eyes when I say, 'The dogs are coming, right?'

"I finally just overheard him saying to somebody, 'It's a little bit of a security blanket for her,' and I thought, 'He's probably right.'

"I try not to bring them everywhere because I don't want to be that girl, like, 'Oh she was nice, but God, she brings those dogs everywhere. She's so L.A,' It's really a comforting thing and I just love them. They just make me really, really happy.

"I suppose one day a kid might do that, but dogs don't scream and they don't act out. Sometimes they'll leave me special treats around the house, which is lovely, but you know, they're just cute."
