Producers of the 'Hope For Haiti Now' telethon appeal have reportedly ruled out an appearance from Kanye West.

Following the rapper's highly-publicised antics at several live shows, such as last year's upstaging of Taylor Swift at the MTV VMAs, organisers of the forthcoming fundraiser have said that he will not be invited to the event.

"After what he said on the Katrina telethon and the way he behaved at the MTV Video Music Awards, everyone agrees it's just best that he does not participate," one producer told USA Today.

"Kayne has to make everything about himself. He will do anything to steal the spotlight and, well, this night it's just not about him."

A host of stars have been confirmed for the bi-coastal telethon, including hosts George Clooney and Robert Pattinson as well as live performances from Bono, Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera and Taylor Swift.

The fundraiser is due to be broadcast across a number of US networks, including MTV, ABC and CNN. UK viewers can watch the programme on MTV UK.
