Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin have apparently handed over nearly £500,000 to buy a third property on their street.

The couple already have a 33-room superhome after combining two north London town houses. The Daily Mail reports that they have now bought a flat on the other side of their first property, which will house staff.

The original building was bought from Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes in 2004 for £2.5million, while the second property came with a price tag of £3.1million. Plans for a 10ft tall security fence to mask the house have come under fire from neighbours, who claims the measure is "over-the-top".

Paltrow and Martin have several properties in the US, but view London as the family base for themselves and children Apple, five, and Moses, three.
